Peripatetic Music Instructor Required – Flute Specialist

We are looking for a flute specialist to teach and support students with instrumental lessons at Hinchley Wood School. A passion for music is required, together with excellent teaching and organisational skills and the vision to develop music teaching within the school.

Hinchley Wood School is an inclusive and high achieving school in Esher, Surrey, celebrating student progress and development as well as academic achievement. We are one of the top 200 performing schools in terms of the progress our students make between the end of Key Stage 2 and their GCSEs, and highly sought after with 1,400 students on roll including 300 in our Sixth form.

All students are able to access instrumental/singing lessons, and currently over 179 students participate. In addition, we would be keen for this individual to develop our partnership with Hinchley Wood Primary School, with a view to encouraging take up of music lessons from an earlier age. 

For information, all our instructors are self-employed and organise their own timetables and invoice parents/carers directly.  Our Music Coordinator provides support in school and is a central point of contact for students/parents and instructors. 

The Music Department is a vibrant and exciting place with excellent facilities. It is

accommodated in a purpose built suite, comprising 2 main classrooms, a music ICT room with 20 Apple Mac computers, a 24-track recording studio and 8 practice rooms.
